People Partner (Tech & Product)

Location: Cambridge

In-office expectation: Flexible hybrid, one to two days per week in office.

Employment type: Permanent

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000

Why this role exists: To give our Technology and Product teams a genuine strategic partner who shapes and owns the people strategy behind their goals, not someone who just runs HR process.

Redgate brings together people who want to do their best work in an environment built on trust, accountability, and collaboration.

We build solutions that help data professionals securely manage the data and databases their organisations depend on, a space that's only becoming more critical as systems scale, data regulations increase, and AI adoption accelerates.

By 2028, Redgate will operate as an expert-plus-agent company: domain experts amplified by AI, delivering customer value at a pace our peers can't match. AI handles the heavy lifting, our people control the judgement. Everyone at Redgate works with Claude, giving you access to the best AI tools from day one.

● There's genuine room to bring your own ideas to the wider People Partner team: templates, calibration frameworks, how a restructure gets structured, and shape those alongside your peers rather than working them out alone in your own corner.

● We're growing, and a lot of the people strategy isn't fixed yet. You'll have a real say in shaping it, not just delivering against decisions someone else already made.

● You'll support Technology and Product, in a way that fits how we do things at Redgate.

This isn't a role about running HR process. You'll operate as a genuine strategic partner to the Technology and Product leadership teams, helping shape, own, and deliver the people strategy that drives their goals and, in turn, Redgate's wider goals.

• You'll sit inside the leadership team's regular rhythm, seeing the roadmap and trade-offs early enough to shape them, not just react once there's a people problem

• Full ownership of the people strategy for Technology and Product: headcount plan, org design, succession, and retention, agreed directly with the functional exec

• Real thought leadership beyond your own patch: spot patterns across functions (promotion criteria that don't hold up, gaps in how senior hires are onboarded) and bring them to the wider People Partner team

• Coach and challenge leaders directly, including pushing back on a VP or exec when the data or your judgement says they've got it wrong

• Find practical ways to bring AI into how the function and the People Partner team work, not as a bolt-on

• Solid experience as a strategic People Partner or HR Business Partner in a high-growth or fast-changing business, ideally tech or SaaS, partnering directly with product or engineering leadership

• A commercial mindset: able to connect the business issue behind a people problem and the people issue behind a business problem, with a track record of turning that into commercial outcomes

• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and make decisions stick without relying on formal authority

• Confident using people metrics (attrition, engagement, hiring velocity, time to fill) to diagnose what's really going on, not just report on it

• Evidence of shaping how a People team works, not just delivering inside your own area, for example building a framework or fixing a broken process

● Salary range: £60,000 - £70,000

● Hybrid working: home and Cambridge office

● Monthly wellbeing allowance and generous paid time off

● Genuine investment in learning, development, and career progression

● Private health insurance
