1. About these terms
Cambridge Careers is an independent local careers platform operated by [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME]. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you post a job, you also agree to the posting terms.
2. Candidate use
Candidates may browse jobs and follow employer application links without an account. Job information may come from employers or approved data providers. We moderate and maintain the service, but do not guarantee that every listing is complete, error-free or still available when viewed.
Candidates must assess opportunities and employers independently and must not misuse the site, attempt unauthorised access, scrape it in a way that disrupts the service or submit malicious content.
3. Employer accounts
Employer access uses email magic links. You are responsible for controlling the email account used to sign in and for ensuring that anyone acting for an organisation is authorised to do so. Tell us promptly if you believe access has been compromised.
4. Listings and moderation
Employer content must be accurate, lawful and for a genuine role. Paid listings are reviewed under our moderation policy and can be rejected, suspended or removed after publication as well as before. [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME] may also request changes where a listing breaches these terms, creates safety or legal risk, misrepresents the role or organisation, or threatens the integrity of the marketplace.
5. Pricing and promoted positions
A new direct listing requires a promotion budget of at least £49 and, once approved and published, runs for 30 days. Higher-funded eligible jobs rank higher only within the clearly labelled promoted block. Promotion never reorders organic results.
Position estimates can change as employers post or top up. Payment is for the listing and its relative promotional rank, not a guarantee of a fixed position, traffic, applications or a hire. Employers receive no automatic refund if another employer outbids them.
6. Payments, refunds and suspension
Stripe processes payments. A full refund removes the paid promotion; depending on publication state, the listing returns to draft or review. A partial refund keeps the promotion budget but returns a non-terminal listing to review. A dispute removes the paid promotion and returns a non-terminal listing to review; a won dispute restores the promotion. Disputes are reviewed by an administrator. Being outbid does not trigger an automatic refund. We may suspend access or listings while investigating suspected fraud, abuse, payment issues or serious breaches of these terms.
7. Availability and liability
We may update, interrupt or withdraw parts of the service. To the extent permitted by law, [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME] is not responsible for hiring decisions, employer conduct, candidate conduct or loss arising from reliance on third-party job content. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Law, changes and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. We may update the terms when the service or applicable law changes.
